OptiPoint™ Pressure Independent Valves

Communicating, pressure‑independent valve solutions for accurate hydronic flow control
OptiPoint™ Pressure Independent Valves deliver precise, pressure‑independent flow control using intelligent communicating actuators, energy‑efficient motor technology, and seamless WebCTRL® integration to simplify commissioning, improve performance, and reduce operating costs.

OptiPoint™ Pressure Independent Valves

The OptiPoint™ smart valves are designed for maximum efficiency in tight spaces. They combine a differential pressure regulator with a 2-way control valve to supply a specific flow for each degree of ball opening, regardless of system pressure fluctuations. As such, the valves perform the function of a balancing valve and control valve in one unit.

The OptiPoint smart valves are operated by a rotary actuator. This actuator is controlled by an Act Net communications signal from the controller which moves the ball of the valve to the desired position.

OptiPoint™ Pressure Independent Valves

Communicating Actuators

Communicating actuators eliminate the need for physical I/O on the controller. Up to two valves can be connected to the Act Net bus on any Act Net‑enabled controller, with each valve pre‑addressed for quick commissioning.

Remote Monitoring & Diagnostics

Valves are accessed remotely through the WebCTRL® system, enabling detailed analysis and rapid error detection using Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD).

Electronic Fail‑Safe Operation

Actuators use super capacitors to drive the valve to a defined fail‑open or fail‑closed position (model‑dependent) upon loss of power.

Position Feedback

Exact valve position feedback is communicated directly to the WebCTRL® system over the Act Net bus, supporting accurate commissioning and operational verification.

What is the main advantage of pressure‑independent valves?

They maintain accurate flow control regardless of system pressure fluctuations, improving comfort and energy efficiency.

What happens during a power failure?

Super capacitors drive the actuator to a predefined fail‑open or fail‑closed position depending on the valve model.

Can flow settings be adjusted after installation?

Yes. Maximum Cv and flow can be adjusted locally or remotely through WebCTRL®.

Are these valves suitable for retrofit projects?

Yes. The snap‑fit actuator design and communicating interface make them ideal for retrofit applications.
