Air-to-water heat pump in monobloc design
The Vitocal 250‑A is a high‑efficiency air‑to‑water heat pump designed specifically for modernization projects and new residential buildings. It combines high flow temperatures, natural refrigerant technology, and quiet operation, making it ideal for replacing conventional boilers while meeting future environmental requirements.
Equipped with a Vitotronic control system offering intuitive, centralised control of:
Space heating
Cooling
Domestic hot water (DHW)
Energy management functions
The ViCare app enables simple and intuitive operation via smartphone or tablet, with clear system status and energy insights.
Designed for digital connectivity, allowing remote monitoring, control, and service support within the Viessmann ecosystem.
Digital connectivity supports efficient diagnostics and maintenance, improving system reliability and service response.
Thanks to the "Advanced Acoustic Design+", the Vitocal 250-A is one of the quietest devices in its class. In noise-reduced night-time operation, the outdoor unit achieves a sound pressure level of only 35 dB(A) at a distance of four metres. This is about as quiet as a slight whisper or rustling of leaves.
The Vitocal 250-A uses the natural refrigerant R290 (propane). It is future-proof with a GWP (global warming potential) value of 3 and enables high flow temperatures of up to 70 °C. Ideal for efficient operation with existing radiators.
The main difference lies in the construction and water heating:
Vitocal 250-A: A wall-mounted hydro module. It is ideal if a hot water tank is already available or if it is to be installed separately (flexible in renovation).
Vitocal 250-A Compact (formerly Vitocal 252-A): A floor-standing compact device. Here, the hot water tank (190 litres) is already integrated directly into the housing, which saves space and simplifies installation in the utility room.
The cooling function ("Active Cooling") works best via underfloor heating. Classic radiators are only suitable for cooling to a limited extent. Your specialist partner will be happy to advise you on whether retrofitting makes sense for you.
