Toshiba’s HRV model uses exhaust air to pre-condition the incoming air, thus reducing the cooling or heating load on the system. This allows the overall capacity size of the system to be reduced.

Features

ENERGY SAVINGS

Recovers air suction heat and humidity up to 75% and transfers them to the outdoor fresh air. The unit has the ability to automatically change operation mode of the air flow between heat exchanger mode (energy recovery) to normal standard ventilation mode (free cooling), based on the outdoor temperatures.

MULTI-APPLICATION

9 models available with air flow ranges from 150 to 2000 m3/h. Air balance volume rate can be varied to suit the usage environment and location. Horizontal or upside down installations.

FREE COOLING

Provides fresh outdoor cool air to reduce the indoor air temperature, when the outdoor temperature is lower than the indoor air conditioned temperature.Multi-application.

FULLY-INTEGRATED

Air conditioners and heat exchangers are controlled with the same main bus system (TCC-LINK).

Control / Integrations

Fully Integrated VRF Control

Operates as an integral part of the Toshiba VRF system, connected via the TCC‑LINK main bus.
Air conditioners and air heat exchangers are controlled through the same VRF communication network, ensuring synchronized operation.

Automatic Mode Switching

Control logic automatically switches between:
Heat exchanger (energy recovery) mode, and
Standard ventilation / free cooling mode
Mode selection is based on outdoor temperature conditions, optimizing energy use without manual intervention.

Energy Recovery & Free Cooling Coordination

Coordinates ventilation airflow with VRF indoor unit operation to:
Recover exhaust air heat and humidity
Reduce cooling or heating load on the VRF system
Free cooling is activated when outdoor air conditions are favorable.

Centralized & Local Control Compatibility

Compatible with Toshiba VRF wired controllers and centralized control systems.
VN‑M_HE units do not require standalone controllers; all functions are managed through the VRF system interface.

Stable System Operation

Designed to maintain balanced airflow and stable refrigerant system operation.
Fully synchronized with:
Indoor unit fans
Electronic expansion valves
Outdoor unit compressor operation

Commercial VRF Architecture

Intended for commercial and large‑scale VRF installations.
Operates as a system component, not as an independent ventilation or heat recovery unit.
